AS we GET OLDER WE NEED to EVALUATE OUR CIRCLE OF FRIENDS NOT TO NECESSARILY GET RID OF INDIVIDUALS BUT TO SEE WHO IS WORTHY OF OUR TIME AND WHO IS, WELL, NOT.

WE SHOULD NEVER FEEL OBLIGATED TO REMAIN FRIENDS WITH PEOPLE OUT OF CONVENIENCE OR TIME INVESTED. YOU COULD MEET SOMEONE TODAY THAT HAS BETTER INTENTIONS AS A FRIEND THAN SOMEONE YOU’VE KNOWN SINCE DIAPERS.

FRIENDSHIPS SHOULD BEST SERVE YOU & NOT IN A WAY THAT IS SELFISH BUT IN A WAY THAT YOUR NEEDS ARE FULFILLED WITHOUT BEING TOO EXTREME & BORDERLINE CLINGY.

4 TYPES OF FRIENDS TO HAVE IN YOUR FRIENDVENTORY

1). BEST FRIEND/CONFIDANT (YOUR EVERYTHING):

  • Very important person in your life, usually the first person you think about when you make plans, when life events happen, & when something goes wrong

We have to cover THE GOOD & THE BAD so here we go… I’ll make it quick!

TYPES OF FRIENDS WE NEED TO DISTANCE OURSELVES FROM OR GET RID OF COMPLETELY

  • NEGATIVE NANCY—this person is never positive, like EVER! They can make unicorns & rainbows sound like a depressing topic.
  • VOGUE FRIEND—TOO MANY ISSUES—Drama fuels this friend; they thrive in the midst of mess! Drama Drama Drama—they still like to “pop off”, bitches is hatin’ and hoes are jealous… Very childish and draining type of friend
  • TERRITORIAL—does not play nice when your other friends are around, jealous or dismissive when you discuss your other friends. You usually have to give this friend a pep-talk prior to introducing them to your other friends. Clingy AF!
  • SELFISH—they are mostly or all take; very little or no give. This friend is the type that you are always there for emotionally, financially, and mentally. They seem to never show up for you in your time of need. They mostly call when they need something.
  • NEEDY—has no concept of “people have lives outside of their friends” or “shit gets hectic”. They want you to somehow find the time for them that you can’t even find for yourself. Always threatening the friendship and posting weird subliminal…..Also, CLINGY AF!

Well that just about covers this topic! Sometimes you have to check that friendventory and make sure your circle aligns with your spirit and goals. LEVEL UP if necessary…

Now ask yourself… Where do you fall in the FRIENDVENTORY?
